Kestrel Eight is a fast-growing, Melbourne-born Red Hat Consulting firm. We're looking for a passionate and hands-on Mid-Senior OpenShift Consultant to join our expert team.

This isn't a "back-office" role. You'll be at the forefront, working directly with major government and large enterprise clients to design, build, and scale their most critical container platforms. We solve complex modernisation challenges by delivering clean, practical solutions that "just work". What You'll Do

  • Lead the design, implementation, and management of Red Hat OpenShift (OCP) platforms for enterprise clients.
  • Architect and execute strategies for migrating legacy applications and virtualised workloads to OpenShift.
  • Automate everything from platform provisioning to application deployment using Red Hat Ansible Automation.
  • Consult as the senior technical expert, guiding clients on best practices for containerization, CI/CD, security, and DevOps.
  • Collaborate with our Solution Architects to integrate OpenShift into broader hybrid cloud (AWS, Azure) and integration solutions.
  • Solve complex platform, network, and application issues, ensuring resilient and scalable systems.

What You Bring

  • Proven, hands-on experience designing, building, and administering Red Hat OpenShift (OCP) in large-scale environments.
  • Deep technical knowledge of Kubernetes, containers, and microservices architecture.
  • Strong experience with Red Hat Ansible Automation, including writing and managing playbooks.
  • A solid background in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration.
  • Excellent communication skills. You must be comfortable engaging with technical peers and business stakeholders.
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a passion for automation.
  • Must have current and valid working rights in Australia.

Bonus Points for:

  • Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift (or RHCA).
  • Experience with OpenShift Virtualisation.
  • Knowledge of Red Hat integration (Fuse, AMQ) or AI/ML platforms.
