Colyton High School is a comprehensive high school with a current enrolment of over 750 students including 11% Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, 18% EALd and 40% LBOTE. Selection CriteriaApplicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,
- Demonstrated capacity to co-lead the implementation of professional learning related to the school focus on explicit teaching and support staff at whole school, faculty and individual levels to improve student learning outcomes.
- Ability to support the implementation of High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) programs, including identification and program planning to enrich student learning.
- Demonstrated capacity to use ICT to streamline processes relating to teaching and learning and to enhance data analysis, making data accessible and useful for teachers.
- Demonstrated capacity to design and implement practices to improve curriculum delivery through innovative program design and approaches to assessing student achievement.
Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
