About The Role
As an Assistive Technology Assessor at Everyday Independence, no two days will be the same. If you were here last week, these are some of the things you may have done:
- Working in the social model means you will work in diverse settings; from homes and schools to playgrounds, workplaces, and community centres
- Utilizing an evidence-based measurement tool and your skills in assessment, you will create targeted therapy plans to improve quality of life and to support participants in achieving their goals and maximizing NDIS funding using Assistive Technology
- Collaborating with NDIS participants, their supports, and Assistive Technology suppliers to assess, trial and prescribe Assistive Technology solutions to support people towards their goals
- Providing capacity building support for participants to embed Assistive Technology and Home Modifications into their daily routines and habits.
- Work within an interdisciplinary team of passionate and dedicated allied health professionals to ensure that recommended Assistive Technology is embedded within a person's everyday environment and routine
- Building meaningful relationships with the participants and their supports (family, carers, friends), as well as key suppliers and stakeholders in the community
- Attend weekly team meetings in the Hub; sharing stories of impact, coffee, and laughs
- You will tap into the knowledge and support of your Team Leader and dedicated Assistive Technology Therapy Mentor

To be considered for this role you'll need:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy
- General AHPRA Registration
- Demonstrated experience prescribing assistive technology and/or home modifications
- A positive and flexible approach to work
- Strong communication skills and a team player
- Commitment to personal and professional development
- Valid driver's license
- NDIS Workers Screening Check
- Working with Children Check
- Experience working in NDIS/disability is preferred, however not essential
