This Position reports to:

Head of Proj Mngt - Energy Industries AU

To lead the successful delivery of large, complex electrical infrastructure and/or automation/control projects (power plant upgrades, synchronous condensers, EPC contracts, multiple sites) by managing scope, schedule, cost, quality, safety, and stakeholder expectations. The Senior Project Manager acts as the client's primary point of contact, provides leadership to the project team, and ensures alignment with both contractual obligations and organisational objectives.

Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead the execution of medium-size and/or complex to large projects. Each day, you will ensure that all related activities are performed in accordance with procedures, regulations, standards, specifications, and targets. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting the oversight of team development and process improvement to continually increase the effectiveness of project execution, especially in smaller units.

The work model for the role is: hybrid

This role is contributing to the success of the Process Automation Energy Industries division in Australia.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Lead end-to-end project delivery, ensuring compliance with contract terms and governance across scope, schedule, cost, quality, safety, and environmental standards.

  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders, mentor internal and external personnel, oversee subcontractors, and serve as the primary client interface.

  • Monitor risks and performance metrics, implement mitigation strategies, and report progress transparently to senior management and client stakeholders.

  • Manage commercial and financial aspects including contracts, claims, cost control, and cash flow, while promoting safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications for the role

  • Holds a degree in Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, or a related engineering discipline, along with a recognized Project Management Certification (e.g., PMP, IPMA, PRINCE2).

  • Brings 10–15 years of project management experience, including over 5 years in a senior leadership role delivering major electrical infrastructure and automation/control projects in the energy sector.

  • Successfully managed complex substation, transmission, and large-scale electrical projects exceeding $50M in value.

  • Possesses deep expertise in EPC contracting, commercial and risk management, and consistently delivers projects on time, within budget, and to high safety and quality standards.

  • Skilled in leading multi-disciplinary teams and subcontractors, with a strong track record of building client trust and managing stakeholder expectations.

  • Demonstrates inspiring leadership, strategic thinking, persuasive communication, and a strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
