Our Client

The company is a civil engineering firm specializing in heavy construction. They have a fleet of heavy civil construction equipment and are seeking a senior leader to oversee these assets. The role offers a challenging, high-pressure environment within a high-performing organization.

Scope

The Senior Plant and Equipment Manager will have full responsibility for the company's fleet of heavy civil construction equipment. This includes planning, allocating, and optimizing the use of the equipment across various projects. The role also involves managing budgets, controlling costs, and making key decisions regarding equipment acquisition, leasing, or hiring.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fleet Management
    : Take full responsibility for the planning, allocation, and optimization of all plant and equipment for projects.
  • Maintenance and Compliance
    : Supervise maintenance, reliability, and ensure compliance with all safety and environmental standards.
  • Financial Oversight
    : Control budgets, optimize costs, and make informed decisions about purchasing, leasing, or hiring equipment.
  • Team Leadership
    : Directly manage two Workshop Managers and their teams.
  • Coordination
    : Coordinate with project managers, site teams, and suppliers to ensure equipment is available and performs as needed.

Qualifications

  • Experience
    : A minimum of 10 years of experience in managing heavy civil/construction plants.
  • Technical Knowledge
    : Strong technical knowledge of heavy equipment and maintenance cycles.
  • Leadership Skills
    : Proven leadership ability in managing experienced and strong-willed teams. Must have the character and authority to lead effectively.
  • Essential Skills
    : Excellent organizational, financial, and communication skills are required for this senior leadership position.
