Our client is a well-known, leading provider of linen and workwear in Australia in need of a skilled and reliable Mechanical Fitter to join their maintenance team at their commercial laundry facility. This role is critical in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of a variety of industrial laundry equipment through both scheduled preventative maintenance and prompt reactive repairs.
About the Role:

Perform preventative maintenance on commercial laundry machinery including tunnel washers, gas-powered dryers, steam irons, and automatic folding machines.

Diagnose mechanical faults and conduct reactive maintenance and repairs to minimise equipment downtime.

Conduct regular inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and component replacements as required.

Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and company maintenance standards.

Maintain accurate service records and update maintenance logs.
-
Collaborate with other team members, including electricians and operators, to troubleshoot complex equipment issues.

Assist with equipment installations and upgrades when needed.

Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimise machine reliability and efficiency.
About You:
-
Relevant trade qualification (e.g., Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade or equivalent).

Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter in a n industrial, manufacturing, or commercial laundry environment.

Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience working with hydraulic, pneumatic, and gas-powered systems.

Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, service manuals, and technical documents.

Sound problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
-
Familiarity with workplace safety practices and Lock Out Tag Out procedures.

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
