Our client is a well-known, leading provider of linen and workwear in Australia in need of a skilled and reliable Mechanical Fitter to join their maintenance team at their commercial laundry facility. This role is critical in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of a variety of industrial laundry equipment through both scheduled preventative maintenance and prompt reactive repairs.

About the Role:

  • Perform preventative maintenance on commercial laundry machinery including tunnel washers, gas-powered dryers, steam irons, and automatic folding machines.

  • Diagnose mechanical faults and conduct reactive maintenance and repairs to minimise equipment downtime.

  • Conduct regular inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and component replacements as required.

  • Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and company maintenance standards.

  • Maintain accurate service records and update maintenance logs.

  • Collaborate with other team members, including electricians and operators, to troubleshoot complex equipment issues.

  • Assist with equipment installations and upgrades when needed.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimise machine reliability and efficiency.

About You:

  • Relevant trade qualification (e.g., Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade or equivalent).

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter in a n industrial, manufacturing, or commercial laundry environment.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience working with hydraulic, pneumatic, and gas-powered systems.

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, service manuals, and technical documents.

  • Sound problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Familiarity with workplace safety practices and Lock Out Tag Out procedures.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
