Our company

Shark Bay Salt Pty Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsui & Co. Ltd, which is one of the worlds most diversified trading, investment, and services enterprises. We own and operate two salt fields in Western Australia with our high-quality salt being exported to various overseas markets.

Our new corporate head office is situated in the heart of the CBD. This permanent position is responsible for overseeing all financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and risk management functions across Shark Bay Group and will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer.

About the Role:

  • Oversee the finance function across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Financial and Management Accounting, Tax, and Treasury.
  • Lead and manage the SBSG Annual Report process, maintaining full compliance with reporting requirements.
  • Deliver accurate and timely financial reports (monthly, quarterly, and annual) to the Executive team and Board.
  • Drive budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning compliance.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and efficiency gains.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions.
  • Collaborate with business units to provide financial insights and strategic guidance.

About you:

  • Professional accountancy membership (CA, CPA or equivalent)
  • Post graduate qualification in accounting or related field.
  • PRONTO experience and knowledge is highly desirable.
  • 8 years + experience in finance, with strong expertise in financial reporting standards, compliance, and governance, specifically or particularly within the mining industry.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • Organised, accurate, and confident in time management; deliver excellent stakeholder service with experience in staff leadership.
