We are looking for a Trades Assistant to join our growing team in Welshpool, WA. This is a Entry Level hands-on role in a supportive, team-based environment where your skills will make a real impact.

No experience is required. However, we are looking for serious candidates who:

  • Shows initiative and a determination to learn.
  • Can work independently and as part of a team.
  • Is confident using power tools
  • Is punctual, reliable, and takes pride in their work.

On the job training will be provided. You will learn from the best, working alongside our highly experienced and skilled trades people.

This role also provides a pathway to an Australian Apprenticeship qualification to persons with proven commitment and exceptional performance on the job.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a metal fabrication workshop or welding workshop is desirable but not necessary
  • Basic mechanical skills and understanding of tools and equipment
  • Must have full time work rights in Australia
  • Holds a current C-class driver's licence.
  • Must be reliable and punctual
  • Physical dexterity and the ability to follow a plan
  • Possess good written and spoken English skills.

Bonus skills (not required, but highly desirable):

  • Forklift licence.
  • Working at Heights ticket.
  • White Card

Tasks you will be doing

  • Cutting and grinding steel using
  • Using hand and power tools safely and effectively
  • Reading and interpreting basic workshop drawings
  • Assisting with metal fabrication and general workshop duties
  • Measuring and marking out materials
  • Keeping workspaces clean and organised
  • Moving and handling steel components safely (forklift ticket needed)
