Reporting to the General Manager – Water & PMO, you will oversee the safe, efficient, and profitable operation of our water, wastewater, and M&E maintenance services. You will provide strong leadership to a multidisciplinary team, ensuring exceptional customer outcomes and compliance with all safety, quality, and performance standards About the Role

Reporting Line: General Manager Water & PMO
Key Responsibilities
The Contract Water Operations Manager will have ultimate responsibility for Client Relationship Management, Financial P&L accountability and managerial reporting (including escalation).
Direct reports include Civil Operations Manager, M&E Operations Manager, Project Managers and Works Coordinators. Some of the key responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Lead end-to-end operations across water, wastewater and M&E maintenance.
- Manage financial performance - reporting and contract governance.
- Drive safety, compliance -and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships.
- Oversee a multidisciplinary team including Operations and Project Managers.
- Deliver projects on time, within budget - and to agreed quality standards.
- Implement effective resource planning and risk mitigation strategies.
- Manage procurement, supplier and subcontractor performance.
- Monitor performance metrics and operational reporting.
- Champion a culture of accountability, teamwork and operational excellence.
About you
You will have proven experience in managing water or infrastructure contracts, a strong commercial acumen and leadership capability. Experience in the following areas is considered vital:
- P&L responsibility for contract.
- Client relationship management.
- Managerial reporting.
- Provide leadership, setting strategic direction and goals for the contract.
- Develop and execute business plans, ensuring alignment with contract objectives.
- Lead and manage a high-performing team, fostering a culture of safety, innovation, collaboration and accountability
- Oversee project management, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of water construction projects.
- Develop and manage budgets, financial plans and resource allocation
- Ensure compliance with contract, regulatory requirements, industry standards and company policies.
- Proactive development of relationships with key contract stakeholders to drive successful outcomes.
- Supporting and advocating positive Health and Safety Environment and quality outcomes.
Qualifications
- Preferable: Bachelor of Business or Engineering
- Advantageous: Bachelor of Civil Engineering, Civil Infrastructure, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or Mechanical Engineering.
- Advantageous: Trade certificate in Electrical or Mechanical or Plumbing.
Experience
- 10 plus years' experience in delivery of Water Maintenance Contract, Networks and M&E.
- 5 plus years' experience in Operations or Maintenance Programs.
- Delivery of water infrastructure s, programs and maintenance activities advantageous.
- The successful applicant will possess a deep understanding of the water industry, demonstrated leadership expertise.
- Customer relationship management and a proven track record of financial success.
