Insurance Training Manager

The Insurance Training Manager plays a critical role in supporting the capability and performance of both the Cbus Insurance Operations and Administrator Insurance Operations teams. This role is responsible for designing, delivering, and managing structured, role-based training programs that ensure high-quality member service and compliance with regulatory obligations. Working closely with leaders across the business, the role will drive continuous improvement in training delivery and support a culture of service excellence.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the Insurance Training Strategic Plan and supporting framework.
- Collaborate with managers and stakeholders to identify training and development needs across Insurance Operations and Administrator teams.
- Design and deliver structured training programs including induction, group sessions, individual plans, and one-on-one coaching.
- Coordinate and lead training specialists to ensure consistency and alignment with training objectives.
- Apply diverse learning methodologies such as e-learning, workshops, and coaching to suit different learning styles.
- Monitor and report on training effectiveness, identifying themes, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain training and CPD records and provide reporting to support operational and strategic decisions.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of technical knowledge bases and training materials.
- Support incident management and risk processes by contributing to root cause analysis and remediation activities.
- Foster a high-performance culture focused on member experience and continuous improvement.
- Ensure training programs align with regulatory requirements and support the delivery of the Fund's Insurance Strategy.
- Conduct quarterly and annual reviews of risk controls and collaborate on risk assessments for process changes.
- Formal qualification in learning and development/training (desirable).
- Advanced knowledge of Insurance in Superannuation, particularly Group Insurance, with strong understanding of underwriting and claims.
- People Leadership experience
- Demonstrated experience in managing and delivering structured training programs.
- Proven ability to simplify complex concepts and deliver effective training and coaching.
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design.
- Proficiency in learning management systems, e-learning tools, and Microsoft 365 (Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration capabilities.
- High level of organisation and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Self-motivated, team-oriented, and committed to service excellence.
- Experience in risk management, including incident escalation, compliance, and control reviews.
