The Opportunity

As the Financial Controller at Outsourcey, you will be responsible for managing the full spectrum of financial operations, compliance, reporting, and performance management for the business.

Beyond standard controllership duties, the role requires strong analytical and commercial insight—linking financial results to operational drivers such as attrition rates, recruitment costs, and sales cycles. The Controller also partners closely with Business Development during RFI/RFP processes to ensure robust financial modelling and pricing accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Reporting

  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and management reports.
  • Maintain general ledger integrity, oversee monthly/quarterly close, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Support external and internal audits.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Performance Analysis

  • Lead annual budgets and rolling forecasts with scenario modelling.
  • Compare budget vs. actual performance not just on cost and revenue, but factoring in attrition rates (impact on recruitment/training costs, productivity, margins).
  • Recruitment cycle times and cost-to-hire.
  • Sales pipeline and sales cycle length (impacting revenue recognition, client onboarding timing).
  • Develop financial dashboards for management that integrate operational KPIs with financial outcomes.
  • Identify trends and provide forward-looking recommendations to improve profitability.

Commercial Finance & RFI/RFP Support

  • Partner with Sales/BD teams to prepare pricing models for client proposals.
  • Review and challenge assumptions in RFIs/RFPs, ensuring commercial viability and compliance with company margins.
  • Advise management on financial risks/opportunities in proposed contracts (billing structure, FX exposure, SLA penalties).
  • Support contract negotiations with data-driven insights (e.g., cost per seat, breakeven analysis).

Billing & Revenue Management

  • Oversee client invoicing accuracy, revenue recognition, and reconciliation.
  • Ensure billing models align with contracts (FTE/hourly/output-based).
  • Monitor revenue leakage and recommend corrective action.

Cash Flow & Treasury

  • Manage daily cash flows, forecasts, and funding needs.
  • Monitor collection cycles (DSO) and optimise working capital.
  • Oversee banking relationships and foreign exchange exposure.

Taxation & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with statutory filings and incentive programs.
  • Oversee transfer pricing documentation and inter-company agreements.

Controls & Risk Management

  • Implement internal controls (DOA, procurement, payroll, expenses).
  • Mitigate risks in billing, collections, FX, and contract compliance.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead and mentor Finance team members.
  • Foster collaboration with HR (attrition/recruitment analytics) and Sales (pipeline, RFI pricing).
  • Promote process automation and continuous improvement.
