- Are you a career-minded Planning Manager wanting to continue your career in the FMCG/Manufacturing world?
- Do you want to work close to home in a business that is both stable and growing?
- We have an exceptional opportunity for you
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Planning Manager to join our dynamic team at our busy Yatala Manufacturing site. This business-critical role is responsible for balancing the competing needs of both manufacturing and inventory levels in line with business objectives by creating and maintaining valid production and procurement plans and managing administrative duties in line with company requirements and targets
Our Planning Manager leads the on-site raw materials and packaging procurement team, ensuring sufficient material holding to meet plans whilst having an efficient stock holding.
This is known as a 'wet' site so you will need to be comfortable working in and around raw protein.
Reporting directly to the Site Operations Manager, you will be working in a team that is passionate about doing things well and working as a pack to achieve our goals. No two days will be the same, but with a team that believes in working together, you will have the support you need to ensure production runs efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities in this role include:
Demand Planning –
- Manage and own the Master Production Schedule that supports all pillars of production including inventory, demand planning and sales. QAD experience highly desirable
Sites and Operations Planning –
- Work closely with Manufacturing, Sales, Customer Service, QA, Warehouse and Maintenance Planning to ensure MPS and Production plans are aligned
- Create Capacity plans for all lines based on Operational 0-12 weeks, Tactical 12 weeks to 52 weeks.
- Attend and contribute to the Supply Review Processes. Identification of constraints and issues on supply. Ensure the aggregate of the MPS matches the production plan.
Administration Management –
- Create work orders using QAD based on agreed stock policy and demand plans.
- Generate performance measures on throughput, production volumes, rough cut capacity and constraints - updates of daily KPls and TCOP.
- Provide input to activities and projects that enhance the integration of QAD into the business and the adoption of MRP business principles- site lead for projects.
- Provide analysis, comments and implementation of changes to current business processes to enhance team and site efficiencies and reduce variances in order to meet site KPl's
Inventory Management –
- Maintain a close focus on inventory levels and flag any potential low stocks and excess stock levels and aged inventories
- Monitor materials purchasing tasks to ensure adequate raw meat and packaging materials to meet production plans and effective non direct purchasing.
- Ensure the purchasing team take ownership and a proactive approach to long lead times and spikes in demand
- Work to maintain accuracy of stock levels in the system by ensuring counts are attended and entered in an accurate and timely manner.
- Assist with the EOFY requirements for the site including the EOFY stocktake process.
People Management -
- Facilitate a positive change culture in the workplace - You are known for leading by example and working in an office is not your preferred style. You regularly get out onto the production floor and naturally engage your team and operations to build positive and respectful relationships.
- Coordinate the training of your team to ensure a correct balance of skills is maintained and any future needs met by having clear succession plans in place.
- Provide coaching and leadership to high performers to ensure they are developing and have clear growth pathways for their career development where appropriate.
- Manage performance and disciplinary issues in line with agreed Performance Management Process.
To be successful in this role, you will need to:
- Have proven Planning Manager experience in an FMCG business with short shelf-life constraints. No two days are the same. Our business operates 24/5 and at pace. Because of this pace it is expected that our teams can keep up with and support the rate of change on site
- Have demonstrated leadership capability including positive interpersonal skills, ability to influence, negotiate, resolve conflict and stakeholder management. You know how to lead and motivate a team and pride yourself on being a manager who is respected across the business.
- Have superior problem-solving skills – you have a solution for any problem and have the proven ability to balance short term customer needs with efficient production plans.
- Possess Qualifications in Business, Logistics or Supply Chain or an equivalent or a related discipline. Sound knowledge of ERP and experience with QAD will be preferred.
