About the Opportunity

Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital is seeking dedicated, professional, and approachable Security Officers to join our team in permanent full-time, part-time, or casual roles.

In this vital position, you'll help maintain a safe and secure environment for staff, patients, and visitors by responding to emergencies, managing incidents, and supporting hospital operations. Working as part of a multidisciplinary and multicultural team, you'll play a key role in early intervention, prevention, and resolution of security-related issues—all while delivering exceptional customer service and upholding the highest standards of professionalism.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include conducting regular patrols, responding to alarms, assisting with emergency evacuations, and escorting staff and visitors as needed. You'll also operate security systems, manage access controls, and support violence prevention strategies in line with NSW Health policies.

What You'll be Doing

Security staff work as part of a team, in collaboration with other staff, to assist with managing patients, to provide assistance to visitors, and to assist with protecting staff and securing the assets of South Western Sydney Local Health District.

The emphasis of the role in NSW Health is on assisting with the early identification, prevention and management of incidents. The Security staff provide a safe environment for staff, patients and visitors according to work health and safety legislation.

It is expected that security staff provide the highest possible standard of customer service and professionalism at all times.

NOTE: Security staff, like other NSW Health staff, must contact the police if there is suspected criminal activity on or around a NSW Health premises.

Security staff must not place themselves, or be expected by others to place themselves, at unnecessary risk in carrying out their duties. Where there are concerns about public safety the police should be called.

• Current NSW Security Licence in accordance with the NSW Security Industry 1997 Class 1A, First Aid Certification and an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
