The Portfolio Management ("PM") team at EFA is customer facing team who manage a portfolio of loans, guarantees, bonds and insurance products which support export-related and cross-border transactions for larger corporate & sovereign risk parties.

The Senior Manager will be responsible for

  • managing an existing portfolio of predominantly project and structured corporate finance transactions to private and sovereign borrowers.
  • Supporting the Director PM on larger more complex transactions.

The position provides the opportunity to work across a range of sectors including infrastructure, commodities, mining and resources, defence, shipping, and agriculture. The key components of the role include, risk management of an existing portfolio, transaction administration, problem account management together with strategy planning and implementation and managing customer and other stakeholder relationships once the facility has been executed.

  • Manage a portfolio of low to medium complexity project and structured corporate finance transactions to private and sovereign borrowers.
  • Support Director PM on larger / more complex transactions.
  • Deliver a high level of customer service whilst safeguarding the interests of EFA. Build and maintain strong relationships with exporters, borrowers, and guarantors in relation to existing facilities.
  • Work with Loan Administration staff to manage all administrative aspects of the allocated portfolio including drawdowns, repayments and reporting.
  • Proactively manage all aspects of financial and non-financial transaction risks for allocated portfolio.
  • Work collaboratively with internal functions including credit, legal, compliance and government relations teams. Share learnings with Portfolio Management team and broader business to improve outcomes for EFA and customers.
  • Undertake ongoing transaction monitoring and analysis. Completion of periodic credit reviews, variations, waivers and other related request. Appropriate escalation of issues to the Director PM, Head of PM and other relevant internal stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Identify transactions with a deteriorating risk profile and undertake an appropriate level of intensive management in conjunction with Director PM and other key internal teams.
  • Adherence to internal policies, transaction processes and controls, including escalations, approvals, and delegations for credit decisioning.

ABOUT YOU

  • Degree qualifications in Commerce, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, Banking/Finance or Business and/or relevant technical disciplines.
  • 5 years+ financing experience across project finance, structured finance or large corporate/institutional transactions. Demonstrated ability to manage a portfolio balancing the interests of customers and the lender. International or cross-border financing experience highly valued.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of customers, internal and external stakeholders.
  • Good understanding of loan structuring and credit risk management across a range of financing products including for cross border transactions.
  • Experience within relevant market segments including project and structured finance, infrastructure and corporate loans.
  • Good financial analysis skills. Ability to assess loan performance and perform stress testing. Proficiency in analysing borrower financial statements, cash flow, collateral values, and repayment capacity. Ability to prepare high quality credit submission for transactions of increasing complexity.
  • Good understanding of facility administration including operational risk. Strong understanding of facility and security documentation.
  • Awareness of non-financial risk awareness including KYC and financial crime risks. Ability to proactively identify and appropriate escalate to Director and other specialist teams.
