About our Traineeship Program:

We are looking for Trainees to join our Electrical Design Team in February 2026

Our Electrical Design Trainees help design additions and alterations to the electricity distribution network to ensure safe and reliable supply of electricity to our customers. Working on big projects, the Trainees help with the scoping, design and estimating of overhead, underground electrical lines and structures. These designs are then given to our construction crews who then build according to the design.

Upon completion you could step into one of the following careers:

Technical Design Officer: designing alterations to the network ready for constructionProject Manager: overseeing the delivery of project to connect customers or improve the networkCustomer Requests Officer: providing quotations and information to new customersMaintenance Officer: ensuring the network operates safelyTechnical Drafting Officer: undertaking detailed construction and engineering drawings.

If you want to be part of something essential, be essential with us earning an industry recognised qualification: Advanced Diploma – ESI Power Systems (Design).

 

To be eligible to apply, you need to meet one of the following pre-requisites:

Units 1 & 2 pass in Maths Methods OR Physics (Year 11 equivalent); orCurrently completing (or completed) a Diploma in an electrical field*

*If you are currently completing a pre-requisite subject, you are eligible to apply, as long as it will be successfully completed by the end of the 2025 academic year.
