Overview

Position: Principal Electrical Engineer

Salary: up to 210k + benefits

Company: Tier 1 Contractor

Location: Melbourne or Sydney

Projects: Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), Solar farm, HV/EHV Substations & Transmission Lines

Typical project size: Minimum 100MW & Minimum 132kV

Our client is a global Tier 1 contractor who has secured new projects across transmission, EHV substations, and renewables including solar farms, wind farms, and large-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS). They are investing in growing their internal engineering team to bring electrical design in-house, creating hands-on opportunities for a Principal Electrical Engineer who will deliver major projects from design through execution.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the engineering activities and technical design aspects of the projects.
  • Concept and detailed designs, technical investigations, tender assessment, and contract technical specifications.
  • Analyse electrical system requirements, capacity, cost, and project needs.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork within the engineering team and across the wider business to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
What you'll bring
  • Proven experience as a Senior Electrical Engineer on major energy projects (HV/EHV Substations, Transmission Lines, Renewable Energy).
  • Proven detailed design experience.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g., BSc Engineering).
  • CPEng or eligibility to obtain.
  • Membership (or eligibility) with a relevant engineering institution (e.g., Engineers Australia).
