We are seeking an Assistant Accountant / Bookkeeper / Office Manager to oversee the day-to-day financial administration and general office operations of the business. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, project-driven environment and enjoys managing a broad range of responsibilities.

Finance Responsibilities:

  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, including supplier and subcontractor payments and client invoicing
  • Reconcile accounts and transactions in Xero
  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Prepare and lodge PAYG and BAS statements
  • Process weekly payroll, including superannuation and leave tracking for a small team
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal staff regarding accounts and finance matters
  • Assist Accounts manager with month-end and year-end financial processes
  • Monitor and follow up on outstanding debtor accounts
  • Support cash flow tracking and assist in financial forecasting

Office Management Responsibilities:

  • Manage general office supplies, consumables, and stationery
  • Coordinate team milestones such as birthdays, work anniversaries, and internal celebrations
  • Organise internal meetings and maintain the office filing/database systems
  • Develop and implement administrative processes to support smooth day-to-day operations
  • Answer and manage incoming calls, messages, and front-desk/reception duties
  • Act as the point of contact for mail, deliveries, utilities, maintenance, and miscellaneous office errands

What You'll Bring:

  • Proven experience using Xero (or similar accounting systems)
