About the role

This full-time HVAC Estimating role with Boss Commercial Air Conditioning offers an exciting opportunity to tender major commercial HVAC projects in South-East Queensland. BOSS specialises in projects from $500k -$5M and is seeking an experienced Estimator to tender large central plant - new build and refurbishment projects. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing all aspects for the tender process of complex projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within our client's needs and to the highest standards.

What you'll be doing

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for HVAC projects, including labor, materials, and equipment.
  • Identify, qualify, and select tenders, ensuring timely and accurate submissions
  • Communicate with clients, contractors, and suppliers to discuss project requirements
  • Negotiate prices with subcontractors and suppliers
  • Keep up to date with knowledge of HVAC systems, including relevant Australian Standards and building codes
  • Maintain accurate records of estimates, changes, and project details
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvements and driving innovation
  • Working with and reporting to the Construction Manager

What we're looking for

  • Substantial experience (5+ years) in HVAC estimating, preferably within a commercial/industrial setting
  • Excellent technical knowledge of HVAC systems and their installation
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues related to cost estimation and project delivery
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills needed for interacting with various stakeholders
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering, construction management will be considered advantageous
  • Results-driven, self-motivated, and professional
  • Current driver's licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required
