CNC Operator – Holden Hill SA

Kogan People Solutions, recruiters, are working with a growing and highly regarded cabinet making company committed to designing, manufacturing, and installing beautiful, bespoke joinery for homeowners and businesses across South Australia. They specialize in the manufacturing and installation of custom-built kitchen cabinetry and all kinds of joinery.

They are now seeking a full qualified and experienced CNC Operator to join the dedicated manufacturing team and help produce high-quality panels and components for cabinetry projects.

  • Salary: A great salary is offered in the range of $75k to $85k plus superannuation per annum
  • Tenure: Full-time and ongoing
  • Location: Based in their modern workshop in Holden Hill SA

Key Responsibilities:

  • Precision CNC Operation: Expertly operate and manage advanced CNC routing and cutting machinery, including the careful loading, running, and unloading of materials essential to custom joinery.
  • Technical Interpretation & Quality Assurance: Interpret complex cutting lists, detailed technical drawings, and custom cabinet plans with absolute accuracy to guarantee components are produced perfectly to exact specifications.
  • Machine Setup and Calibration: Execute precise tool setup, machine calibration, and rigorous parameter adjustments to ensure optimal performance when working with premium materials such as Laminex, Formica, Timber, Silestone, Natural Stone, Polytec, and more.
  • High-End Component Inspection: Conduct thorough inspections of all finished components, verifying dimensional accuracy, flawless finish quality, and strict adherence to the demanding standards of high-end design.
  • Material Optimisation & Efficiency: Strategically optimise the nesting and cutting layouts of all sheet materials to maximise material yield and drastically minimise waste on custom projects.
  • Collaboration & Workflow: Maintain close, effective communication with fellow production workers and the supervisor to ensure seamless workflow and guaranteed on-time delivery of bespoke client projects.
  • Workplace Excellence & Safety: Uphold and maintain a clean, highly organised, and safe workspace—a direct reflection of our commitment to precision and quality—while strictly adhering to all Occupational Health and Safety standards.

What you'll need to be considered:

  • Qualified to Cert II or agreed equivalent and possess all necessary cards.
  • At least 1 or more years' experience operating CNC machinery, preferably within the cabinet making or joinery industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and understand complex technical drawings, specifications, and cutting lists.
  • Experience with relevant software for processing or programming.
  • Exceptional focus on accuracy and quality assurance to prevent errors in production.
  • Understanding of different panel materials, cutting techniques, and tooling.
  • Ability to handle and manually load/unload panel materials.
  • Punctual, dependable, and a strong commitment to meeting production deadlines.
  • Solid OH&S awareness and be physically fit.
  • Happy team member keen to get the job done, on time, to high standards.
  • Solid industry references.
  • Keen to be employed on a full-time salaried basis (so this role is not suitable for sub-contractors)
