Focus of the Role

You'll be at the forefront of cyber security risk assurance, working closely with business, cyber security, and project stakeholders in a highly technical and complex environment. We would love for you to utilise your expertise when it comes to establishing and maintaining these collaborative relationships.

Your job is to assess technical security outcomes and translate them into meaningful business risk insights and ultimately providing the critical delivery endorsement. This is not a people management or strategy role-it's about taking ownership and performing practical, on-the-ground cyber security risk assessments.

The Opportunity

Are you ready to take the lead in shaping Telstra's cyber security posture across critical projects?

We're looking for a seasoned cyber security professional to join our Global Networks and Technology team as a Senior Cyber Security Risk Assurance Lead. This role is hands-on and impactful focused on identifying and assessing security risks across a wide range of Telstra initiatives.

This position can be based anywhere in Australia.

What You'll Do

  • Leading cyber security risk assessments across Telstra projects
  • Collaborating with project teams to identify and address security gaps
  • Communicating complex technical issues in clear business terms
  • Making informed decisions and managing stakeholder expectations
  • Contributing to the uplift of team processes and engagement models

About You

  • 10+ years of experience in a cyber security related role (architecture, testing, assurance)
  • Proven ability to perform hands-on technical risk assessments
  • Strong understanding of standards such as ISO, PCI, NIST, and E8
  • Ability to translate technical risks in context and clearly communicate these to business stakeholders
  • Experience working across large and complex environments
