About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and innovative company as a DevOps/Cloud Engineer. A dual facing role where you will focus on conceptualizing and developing innovative infrastructure solutions along with developing the back and front end of a SaaS platform.

Suitable for a talented person who has a proven track record in cloud-based solution development and the knowledge and experience to work autonomously on projects. It is expected that you will have worked in this type of role for five years.

This is a full-time position based in Kings Park, with the opportunity to work 2 days per week out of the Neutral Bay office. Reporting to the Head of Development and collaborating with a small team of professionals.

What you'll be doing:

  • Managing AWS infrastructure (EC2, Lambda, S3, IoT Core).
  • Restructuring and scaling architecture based on evolving requirements.
  • Automating the extraction and processing of data from a variety of sources using tools like SQL, Mongo DB, and S3.
  • Implementing the right architecture for communication between the cloud and the IoT devices using technologies including MQTT (eg. Mosquitto broker).
  • Building CI/CD pipelines.
  • Collaborating with engineers, suppliers, and remote teams.

Your technology competency:

  • Languages: SQL
    ,
    MySQL.
  • Cloud:
    AWS Services (AWS IoT core, EC2, MongoDB, Lambda, etc.).
  • DevOps:
    CI/CD tools like Jenkins and GitLab CI.
  • Containers: Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Full Stack Development:
    NodeJS, Angular etc.

Desired technology competency but not essential:

  • Languages: relational DB design, ability to write and optimize SQL queries.
  • Infrastructure as code (IaC) tools: Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Monitoring and logging tools: Datadog, Cloudwatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack.

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, electronics or a related discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in DevOps engineering.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining scalable microservices architectures in cloud-native environments.
  • Innovative problem-solving skills; solving routine tasks and capable of thinking outside the box to tackle unique challenges in IoT.
  • An independent contributor who is comfortable leading their own work with minimal supervision.
