About the Role
We have an excellent opportunity available for an Assistant Accountant (T&D and MYA) for AB Mauri, located at our Sydney Technical Centre in North Ryde.

AB Mauri is a technology-led business that produces yeast and non-yeast products for application in the bakery, beverage, biofuel, and animal nutrition markets. Our Assistant Accountant is an essential role, working with various stakeholders you will support the accurate and timely delivery of a variety of accounting activities and be instrumental in assisting to provide accurate monthly reporting in accordance with standard ABF procedures and policies. This role will assist both AB Mauri Technology & Development and Mauri Yeast Australia, working flexibly between both remits, displaying a high level of ownership and accountability for both functions, splitting your time 50/50 to deliver your accountabilities.

Reporting to the Accountant, your core responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with Month-end process
  • Assisting with Forecasting and Budgeting process
  • Assisting Accountant with all aspects of taxation (FBT, Payroll tax, etc.)
  • Preparation of monthly BAS return within the required time frame
  • Processing of monthly payroll including payroll journal, leave, etc.
  • Manage and maintain fixed asset register including running monthly depreciation
  • Review and reconcile goods received/not invoiced accounts
  • Liaise internally with GWF Treasury for transfer of FX balance to AUD accounts
  • Undertake basic analysis of data and results and assist with any ABF/ABM queries and reporting

About You
As an ideal candidate for the position, you will have high organisational skills & excellent attention to detail in all tasks completed and with minimum errors. You possess good communication skills with internal and external customers/suppliers, with a strong customer focus at maintaining effective business relationships at all times. You are able to plan and manage multiple daily tasks and longer-range deadlines, ensuring these are delivered on time.

Essential qualifications:

  • Accounting degree and practical experience in an account situation.
  • Intermediate to Advanced MS Excel as well as Microsoft Outlook and Word exposure and financial systems experience.
