Company: Eumundi MeatsWebsite: Location: Sunshine Coast, AustraliaJob Type: Full-Time/Part timeJob Description:Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial & Accounting OversightLead the monthly close process: general ledger, reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, variance analysisPrepare forecasted cash flows, budget vs actuals, and scenario modellingDesign and maintain financial KPIs and dashboards (e.g. gross margin trends, wage ratios, inventory turns, wastage)Validate and review financial reports prepared by others; ensure consistency with operating dataOversee cost accounting, job costing, product margin analysisLiaise with external accountants, auditors and tax advisors; manage audit preparationEnsure compliance with all statutory, tax and regulatory obligationsOperations & Process ControlDocument, review and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across departmentsDesign internal controls to prevent errors, fraud or oversightsAudit adherence to SOPs and controls, propose remedial actionsLead process improvement initiatives: reduce waste, streamline workflows, automate reportingEnsure alignment between operational metrics and financial reportingCross-Functional Coordination & ReportingServe as the integrator between production, sales, staffing and administrationConsolidate data from operations, staffing, sales and admin into unified reporting packsChair or co-chair management review meetings; present insights and recommendationsAct as escalation point for discrepancies, cross-department issues or misalignmentStaff Leadership & DevelopmentLead or mentor accounting/operations team members or outsource partnersDevelop training, accountability frameworks and knowledge sharing (build internal capacity)Oversee onboarding, performance goals and reviews of back-office rolesStrategic & Advisory ContributionsPartner with you and the GM to assess growth initiatives, capital investments, new product launchesProvide scenario analysis and risk mitigation plansProactively identify financial or operational "blind spots" and propose corrective actionRepresent your interests; surface problems before they become crisesSelection Criteria / Required Qualifications & SkillsCategoryMust-Have Preferred / Nice to HaveQualificationsCA, CPA or equivalent accounting qualification Masters in Finance, Business, or MBAExperience7+ years in accounting/finance roles withexposure to operationsExperience in food, wholesale, manufacturing or FMCGTechnical SkillsStrong ERP, accounting software,Excel modelling, BI toolsExperience with advanced analytics, automation or systems integrationMindset & Soft SkillsMeticulous attention to detail, integrity, strong communicationComfortable challenging the GM/other senior staff tactfullyLeadershipExperience managing or coordinating small teamsExperience in cross-functional leadership in SMEsChange AbilityAbility to design, enforce and evolve systems under ambiguityExperience in transformation or turnaround environmentsKPIs & Success Metrics (First 6–12 Months)Monthly management accounts delivered within 5 business days of month endVariance between forecast and actuals under defined thresholds (e.g.
