The Role

Based in Brisbane, the Senior Geotechnical Engineer* will be responsible for projects across coal, gold, and mineral mining sectors, focusing on ground investigations, analysis, and design.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage geotechnical engineering projects from start to finish, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
  • Mentor and develop junior staff, providing guidance and technical support.
  • Provide operational support and troubleshooting in live mining environments, ensuring geotechnical issues are addressed effectively and promptly.

Key Criteria

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering
  • Strong understanding of geotechnical software and tools (e.g., PLAXIS, Geostudio, Rocscience).
  • Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical, Civil, or Mining Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Strong knowledge of soil and rock mechanics, slope stability, and foundation design
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to provide practical, safe, and cost-effective solutions
  • Understanding of mining regulations, standards, and industry best practices
