The Almond Board of Australia is seeking a motivated individual who is ready to join our team to drive innovation that benefits our growers within the Riverina.
The Australian almond industry is worth more than $1 billion dollars and production continues to grow. The ABA is the industry's peak industry responsible for driving sustainable growth and profitability, providing a platform for industry members to collectively respond to industry wide issues, investing in research and marketing, sharing knowledge, and interacting with government, research agencies and other stakeholders.

The Industry Development Officer has a key technical role working with almond growers providing support and responding to industry needs. You will be based in the Griffith district and will join an experienced and supportive team, fostering positive and collaborative relationships within a global network.
Responsibilities within the role:
- Liaise with an established network of growers and global stakeholders
- Facilitate all aspects of research and development trials
- Deliver extension programs and provide technical support to almond growers
- Keeping up to date with emerging issues, industry leadership opportunities, new research and innovation in Australia and overseas
- Communicating clearly and effectively with a range of stakeholders and various formats.
Applicants with all levels of experience are encouraged to apply and requires:
- A tertiary degree in Agriculture, Horticulture or Natural Resources
- High level of interpersonal skills and interest in building stakeholder relationships.
- Ability to design, deliver and evaluate research and extension projects.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel and work in different almond growing regions, working as part of a team and independently.
- Strong organization skills and self-motivation to deliver on deadlines to a high standard
- Competent use of computers and high level of proficiency in Microsoft programs.
- An understanding of the almond or irrigated horticultural industry.
- A self starter who can work independently.
