Role Description/Criteria

Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate the following:

    • Genuine care for student wellbeing and development
    • Understanding of trauma-informed practices
  5. Adaptability and Problem Solving
    • Flexibility to adjust strategies and support depending on student needs to engage in the learning
  6. Confidentiality and Professionalism
    • Discretion when dealing with sensitive student information
    • Commitment to school policies and child safeguarding practices
  7. Academic Support Skills
    • Capacity to assist with literacy, numeracy, and other classroom tasks
    • Encouraging student engagement and participation in learning
  8. Organisational Skills
    • Maintaining records and behaviour logs where required with the support of the Learning Diversity Leader
    • Following daily routines and schedules reliably

The successful applicant will also demonstrate the following:

  • Actively support and promote the values inherent in a Catholic School, by demonstrating an understanding of the ethos of a Catholic school and its mission;
  • Demonstrate an understanding and commitment to legal and moral obligations relating to Child Safety Standards as set out in the Ministerial Order;
  • Be highly professional in all aspects of the role and display proficiency in areas of organisation, written and interpersonal communication skills, ICT skills and be able to use initiative;
  • Be able to give, receive and act on feedback;
  • Demonstrate a preparedness to work flexibly and where required;
  • Be able to use discretion and maintain confidentiality;
  • Attend Parent Support Group (PSG) meetings when required.

MUST Have:

  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Successful completion of National Criminal Police Record Check
  • Certificate 3 or higher in Education Support
