CS Energy generates and sells electricity to large commercial and industrial customers, with a portfolio of traditional and renewable assets located across Queensland. We are pleased to partner with CS Energy to recruit a strategic Chief Information Officer (CIO) to lead the transformation of its Digital, Technology and Security functions across both IT and Operational Technology (OT).

About the role

We are seeking a strategic Chief Information Officer (CIO) to lead the transformation of our Digital, Technology & Security function. As a key member of the leadership team, you'll drive technology modernisation, cybersecurity, and data innovation to power our mission of delivering reliable, sustainable energy solutions.

The CIO will position technology as a business enabler, championing a high-performance culture, driving operational resilience, and enhancing customer and employee experience through fit-for-purpose digital solutions. You will lead enterprise-wide change, oversee major programs and vendors, and align IT investments with our long-term strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Shape and execute a forward-thinking technology strategy aligned with business goals
  • Drive digital transformation, infrastructure modernisation, and cyber resilience
  • Lead the design, development, and delivery of enterprise IT systems and capabilities
  • Oversee cybersecurity, compliance, and information governance across the organisation
  • Manage large budgets, strategic vendors, and complex ICT portfolios (including SAP)
  • Build high-performing teams and foster cross-functional collaboration
  • Champion enterprise data strategy, analytics, and data-driven decision-making
  • Ensure seamless, secure, and productive digital workplace experiences

About you:

You are a seasoned technology executive with over a decade of experience leading enterprise-wide ICT functions within complex, 24/7 operational environments. With a strong foundation in emerging digital technologies, including cloud, IoT, and advanced analytics you bring both strategic vision and hands-on execution.

You have a proven track record of delivering large-scale transformation programs, driving organisational change, and aligning technology investments with business goals. Your expertise spans cybersecurity, enterprise architecture, and data governance, and you're known for your ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable business outcomes. Commercially astute and highly collaborative, you excel in stakeholder engagement, vendor management, and building high-performing teams that drive innovation and resilience across the organisation
