Looking for an experienced Field Service Technician to work in the Bowen Basin - 4/3 Roster Full Time

Our client operates in Mackay as a leading provider of industrial compressed air solutions across central and northern Queensland. They supply and service a wide range of air compressors, including oil-flooded, oil-free, screw, scroll, piston and centrifugal models, supported by trusted global brands. Their locally based team offers onsite and workshop servicing, 24/7 breakdown support, genuine spare parts and access to rebuild centres. With a focus on reliability and efficiency, they partner with industries such as mining and manufacturing to optimise performance and minimise downtime.

Your new role

Reporting to the Customer Service Manager, the Service Technician plays a key role in keeping our client's equipment running smoothly. This role involves hands-on maintenance and repairs of air compressors and related systems, both in the workshop and at customer sites, with a strong focus on safety and quality standards. All duties summarised below:

  • Complete scheduled servicing as planned by the Service Coordinator.
  • Respond promptly to unexpected breakdowns and urgent repair needs.
  • Deliver outstanding customer support and uphold company values in every interaction.
  • Offer technical advice over the phone to customers and colleagues when required.
  • Spot opportunities for equipment upgrades or new sales and pass these on to the Sales team.
  • Keep accurate records of all work completed in the system.
  • Take on additional tasks as directed to support the team and business needs.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Mechanical / Diesel Trade Certificate
  • Valid Drivers Licence
  • Previous experience in field service / mining industry / compressors - highly advantageous
  • Have a current Coal Board Medical & Standard 11 - or willing to obtain
  • Ability to complete pre-employment medical
  • Have contactable references
  • Be living within the Mackay or Moranbah Regions or willing to relocate

In this role, you will receive an attractive hourly rate, plus site allowance & super, and you will be given a work vehicle. This position is ideally commencing ASAP and will give you the opportunity to further your career.
