Shailer Park State High School is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our Student Services Team as an Attendance Officer.

As the Attendance Officer, you will play a key role in supporting student engagement and wellbeing through the proactive management of attendance processes.

This full-time temporary role is offered from 21 January 2026 until 11 June 2026, unless otherwise determined.

About the Role

As the Attendance Officer, you will play a vital role in promoting student engagement and wellbeing by ensuring accurate and timely attendance processes. This position supports the effective operations of the school and fosters strong connections between students, families, and staff.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Generating daily attendance reports, sending SMS notifications to parents/carers, and updating attendance records in OneSchool.
  • Collaborating with staff to address attendance issues and providing data to support interventions for students with chronic absenteeism.
  • Maintaining databases to track attendance-related matters, including legal orders and special circumstances impacting students.
  • Building relationships with families to encourage consistent attendance and addressing barriers to student engagement.
  • Providing administrative support, including assisting at the student counter, managing timetable variations, and offering first aid when required.
