About the role
This fulltime position is responsible for the provision of arboriculture and landscaping advice to assist in the processing of development applications, customer service requests for trees on private land and the assessment of tree permit applications.
On a daily basis you will:
- Provide a high level of customer service
- Assess and negotiate arboricultural and landscaping solutions relating to the development process including recommending development consent conditions and attending pre-lodgement meetings.
- Process tree permit and tree works development applications.
- Undertake tree risk assessments.
- Process Service Requests
- Issue notices, orders in accordance with various legislative Acts
- Investigate and represent Council in legal matters, such as representing Council at the Land and Environment Court.
About You
The successful candidate should have 2-3 years previous experience as a Landscape/Tree management officer in an organisation with similar diversity as the City of Parramatta.
You will also bring:
- International Tree Risk Assessment accreditation such as the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) or Quantified Tree Risk Assessment (QTRA) or eligibility to undertake such accreditation.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate, negotiate, build relationships, and influence others with an engaging approach and technique.
- An understanding of the NSW planning framework relevant to Tree Protection and Development Assessment.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in Arboriculture (Min AQF Level 5), Landscape Design or Construction.
- Current motor vehicle Driver Licence.

We are offering an attractive remuneration from $104,610.61 to $115,174.86 plus 12% superannuation.
