"More Than Just a Place of Learning. A Place to Belong" – Villanova College

Villanova College is an independent Catholic boys' school established in 1948. Today, the College provides education and strives for lifelong learning for 1,500 young men from Year 5 through to Year 12. For the past 77 years, Villanova has remained committed to its mission of uniting school, students, and community, with education focused on the holistic formation of each person within a faith community.

Guided by Catholic values and the Augustinian tradition, Villanova College is seeking an accomplished and visionary leader to join its Senior Leadership Team as Deputy Principal. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to shape both the strategic direction and the day-to-day operations of a vibrant and thriving school community.

The Role

As Deputy Principal, you will work in partnership with the Principal to provide leadership across all aspects of the College's operations. You will lead and mentor a dedicated and highly engaged team spanning several portfolios. As a visible and approachable leader, you will positively contribute to the College's mission of delivering outstanding educational and well-being outcomes for students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic oversight and direction for the College's operational and administrative functions.
  • Support and lead staff development, wellbeing initiatives, and professional learning programs.
  • Champion high-quality teaching and learning practices informed by contemporary pedagogy.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, and child safety frameworks.
  • Lead and participate in the planning and delivery of major College events, programs, and initiatives.
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with staff, students, parents, and the broader community.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will possess a Bachelor of Education and have a passion for providing educational outcomes to students. In addition, you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Proven leadership experience in a school, with a track record of strategic and operational success.
  • Strong understanding of current curriculum and contemporary teaching and learning practices.
  • Experience leading multiple portfolios and teams (both operational and educational).
  • Experience in leading school improvement, innovation, and positive change initiatives.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • A passion for student wellbeing, child safety, and staff development.
  • The ability to be highly organised and deadline-focused.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the Catholic ethos and values.

This is an exceptionally rare opportunity to join a truly dynamic, values-driven school community. You will work alongside a dedicated leadership team to support the growth and development of students and staff, ensuring Villanova College remains a place of excellence in education, faith, and community engagement.
