About The Role:
As a Student Support Officer (internally known as Koorie Tutor), you'll work closely with teachers to provide one-on-one and group support to First Nations students in custody. You'll help learners stay engaged, build confidence, and prepare for life beyond incarceration.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting Koorie students with coursework and learning strategies
- Providing mentoring and encouragement to build confidence
- Creating a safe and respectful learning environment
- Offering culturally responsive support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander learners

Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communitiesAn understanding of the importance of cultural identity and community connectionGreat communication skills and a compassionate listenerA commitment to inclusive, respectful education practicesA Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is a bonus, but not essential.
