Occupational Therapist
The Occupational Therapist is responsible for delivering high-quality, evidence-based occupational therapy services to clients of all ages and varying levels of complexity. Services are provided in person, via telehealth, or in community-based settings, including client homes, schools, and hubs.
Your primary objective is to enhance the daily functioning and overall well-being of all clients, in particular participants of the NDIS, by addressing their individual sensory, motor, cognitive, and environmental needs. Through capacity-building strategies and participation-focused supports, you will help clients build independence and engage meaningfully in their home and community life.
This role supports a multidisciplinary, person-centred model of care with a focus on cultural responsiveness, capacity building, and the use of innovative service delivery methods. The Occupational Therapist works collaboratively with clients, families, carers, and other service providers to improve access to therapy and promote better health outcomes in regional, rural, and remote communities.
Key Responsibilities
· Deliver high-quality, evidence-based occupational therapy services to clients across a range of conditions, age groups, and cultural contexts.
· Complete functional assessments, develop care plans, and implement therapeutic interventions based on individual needs.
· Provide services across various settings including clinic, homes, education facilities, and community hubs, both in-person and via telehealth.
· Delegate appropriate tasks to allied health assistants and monitor the quality of delegated services.
· Supervise occupational therapy students as required.
