We have an opportunity for a Law Graduate to join our Insurance team in Melbourne working with James Johnson.
About the team and the work
- We rarely have roles come up in this specialised team given the breadth and depth of work on offer and the genuine collaborative and cohesive team culture.
- You will work across both Victorian and Commonwealth jurisdictions with self-insurers and Government agencies on statutory issues, including managing claims and common law matters, as well as supporting major litigation proceedings.
- You will have the opportunity to be involved in regular advocacy work in the Administrative Appeals Tribunal and other Courts.
- This is a challenging role where you will have the opportunity to advise the Commonwealth on a diverse range of administrative matters in a fast-paced environment.
- You will join an established and reputable team, who will support you in your development whilst working on complex and diverse matters.

About you
- You will have prior paralegal experience at a well-regarded law firm.
- Proven interest in or experience in statutory class issues and claims, or administrative law, with a passion for advocacy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent attention to detail and organisational ability.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative team.
- You will have graduated or be graduating in December 2025 and be able to start early 2026.

- Previous experience as a paralegal, tip staff, summer clerk or voluntary legal experience highly regarded
