THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounts Assistant to join our Finance team. This role has a primary focus on Accounts Payable while also providing support across Accounts Receivable and administration. The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance within our finance operations.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the end-to-end Accounts Payable function, including processing supplier invoices, payment runs (local and international), reconciliations, and expense allocations.
Maintain accurate supplier accounts, resolve discrepancies, and build positive supplier relationships.
Reconcile and process corporate credit card transactions and monitor card usage.
Support cost analysis, budget vs actual allocations, and contribute to cost-saving initiatives.
Provide Accounts Receivable support, including receipting payments, reconciling bank transactions, and assisting with debtor management.
Perform finance administration tasks and support the Finance Manager with ad hoc tasks.
Assist with process improvements, system implementation projects, and audit preparation.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and financial regulations and that financial records are kept up to date.
YOUR BACKGROUND
Proven experience in accounts payable or a similar finance role.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for analysis and reconciliations.
Experience with Xero and CIN7 (inventory/ERP) highly regarded.
Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
Highly accurate, methodical, and detail-oriented with excellent time management.
Proactive, solutions-focused, and able to remain calm under pressure.
Quick to learn new systems and processes with a continuous improvement mindset.
Team-oriented, collaborative, and professional in approach.
