Founded in 2012 by Amanda Rettig, A-ESQUE is a contemporary luxury leather handbag brand dedicated to sustainable, local production. Each piece is meticulously handcrafted in our Melbourne Atelier, reflecting our commitment to premium materials and artisanal craftsmanship.

Position Overview:

The successful candidate will be a skilled and meticulous craftsperson, with ideally 2 plus years' experience working in bag/shoe making or similar industries, display strong technical abilities, and possess an all-round passion for working with leather.

The duties and responsibilities of the role include the following:


• Quantity and quality checking leather before cutting


• Cutting using the clicking/cutting machine and by hand as required


• Making/finishing high-quality leather goods

Candidates will have:


• Minimum 2-years' experience as a leather crafts person, cutter or machinist.


• A genuine passion and interest in working with fine leathers


• A keen eye for detail, good hand-eye coordination.


• Exceptional pride and quality in output


• An ability to work in a team environment


• Highly regarded will be work experience and training in the use of production machines – clicking, sewing, skiving & piping.
