We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and reliable individual for Practical Legal Training (PLT) placement to join our growing team.

The PLT student/paralegal will assist in the preparation of files and applications, drafting correspondence to clients and other parties, general admin and billing.

Please note, this position is not paid, but could transition into a paid Paralegal Position at the completion of PLT requirements. Experience in Migration Law is relevant and office experience will be highly regarded. We would prefer a candidate with good IT skills.

Fluent in Italian is a plus If you can speak Italian you are the right candidate.

We are currently seeking a dedicated person to join our team of lawyers as a Practical Legal Trainee.

About the role

We are looking for a law student who wants to complete his/her PLT placement or wants to get some first hand experience of legal work.

The Role

  • Legal research;
  • Reviewing and assisting in the drafting of visas, deeds and a wide range of other legal documents;
  • Administrative duties such as scanning, filing and opening folders;
  • Drafting emails, submissions, Department of Home Affairs documents;
  • Preparing costs agreements and disclosures;
  • Preparing and lodging visa applications, merits review applications, skills assessment and other related applications.

Successful candidate will be working two to three days a week with our solicitors.

Strong organisation skills and high attention to detail;

Must have strong interest to practise in immigration law;

Excellent written and verbal communication;

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Volunteer

Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
