About the role
Maintain and repair a variety of alarm, video surveillance, access control and other security systems that are installed in schools and provide end-users with instruction and advice in regard to the use of those systems.
This role is one of 6 Security Technician roles, the Security Maintenance team consists of 10 roles in total. The Security Maintenance team are responsible for operational management and maintenance over 2,200 schools and other Departmental sites across the state, and is bolstered by the Departments Facilities Maintenance Contract use of Local Contractors.

About you -
- Extensive electronic security system experience at a technician level
- Ability to multi-task and work effectively and efficiently under pressure
- Ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Customer service focussed attitude
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
Essential requirements of the role
- Current and valid Driver's licence – Class C.
- Willingness and ability to work in accordance with an after-hours on-call roster when required.
- Willingness and ability to travel across the state when required.
- Possession of the competence and experience required by a Class 2C Security Licence. (NB. Security Technicians employed by the Central Services unit are not required to hold a security licence due to an exemption provided by the Security Industry Regulation 2016.)
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
- Current and ongoing renewal of a Working With Children Check (WWCC)
