We're seeking a psychologist with an interest or future ambition of working within a statewide forensic mental health service. The Tasmanian Forensic Mental Health Service includes the Prison Mental Health Service, Community Forensic Mental Health Service and the Wilfred Lopes Centre, Tasmania's only secure mental health inpatient unit.

Working within a supportive and highly collaborative multidisciplinary team at the Wilfred Lopes Centre you will undertake discipline specific work that is at the interface of mental health and the criminal justice system.
You will be provided access to specialised training and support to expand your professional skills to enhance your career within forensic mental health. These additional skills will assist you in your completion of specialised assessment tools to bring recognition and understanding of problem behaviours and its potential relationship with offending
In the role you will:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and risk evaluations
- Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans
- Provide individual and group therapy interventions
- Collaborate with legal professionals, case managers, and healthcare providers
- Prepare detailed reports and court documentation
- Participate in case conferences and team meetings
- Be on the frontline contributing to improved outcomes for vulnerable community members

Details of appointment:
Fixed term full time, day worker position, with on-call roster as required, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 30 June 2026.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary: $110,425 to $121,907 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance withAllied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022.
- Please note that access to salaries beyond $119,290 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme
In addition to the above salary, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum
- Correctional allowance of 6.5%

Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.
- Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Psychology Board of Australia.
- Registered with the Psychology Board of Australia.
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
- Endorsed to practice in the approved area of practice of Forensic and/or Clinical Psychology or working towards.
- Current Drivers Licence
