Job Summary

Lead the salad bar team during your shift at Salad Days (Alexandria or Potts Point). You'll manage crew, supervise opening and closing of the store/salad bar, ensure quality of service and food, and help maintain operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the salad bar crew during shifts: assign duties, monitor performance, provide coaching, ensure teamwork.
  • Oversee opening procedures: station prep, setup, ensuring all supplies and equipment are ready.
  • Oversee closing procedures: clean‑down, sanitation, secure storage, end‑of‑shift checklist.
  • Ensure food quality and consistency: fresh ingredients, proper portioning, good presentation.
  • Enforce food safety and hygiene standards: safe handling, allergen awareness, sanitation.
  • Manage inventory and supplies during shift: monitor levels, rotate stock, communicate shortages.
  • Handle customer enquiries and complaints gracefully and professionally.
  • Assist with training new staff members in standards and procedures.
  • Supervise cash or POS operations (if applicable), ensuring accuracy.
  • Report equipment issues, safety hazards, supply problems, or crew performance concerns to management.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Previous experience in food service / hospitality, ideally in a supervisory or team‑lead role.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of food safety / hygiene regulations and practices.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize duties in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Reliable, punctual, with strong work ethic.
  • Basic math / cash handling skills (if supervising POS or financial tasks).

Job Types: Full-time, Casual

Pay: $35.15 – $35.69 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 38 per week
