What We're Looking For:

You will be able to professionally represent the company, build strong client relationships, and manage projects from initial enquiry through to successful completion. You will attend sites, prepare accurate quotations, coordinate resources, and ensure works are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards. Flexibility to attend jobs outside normal business hours, strong communication skills, and the ability to identify and develop new business opportunities are essential to maintaining and enhancing Steamatic's reputation.

The Role:

This position is responsible for managing the end-to-end quoting and project process for restoration and insurance-related works. The role involves attending sites, preparing accurate scopes of works and quotations, securing client approvals, and overseeing projects to ensure completion on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards. The Estimator will actively engage with clients, insurers, and subcontractors, foster strong relationships, and identify new business opportunities. This includes monitoring project costs, maintaining accurate records, and supporting continuous improvement across systems, safety, and customer service.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Attend sites promptly to assess and scope restoration works.
  • Prepare accurate quotations, scopes of works, and supporting documentation.
  • Obtain formal client approval before commencing works.
  • Manage projects from start to completion, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
  • Liaise with clients, insurers, subcontractors, and internal teams to coordinate works.
  • Monitor project costs, resources, and margins to meet financial targets.
  • Conduct final inspections and secure customer acceptance of completed works.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project records in company systems (e.g., NIS, CRM).
  • Follow up on quotations, update project statuses, and assist with invoicing accuracy.
  • Promote and comply with all OH&S requirements, conducting site safety assessments.
  • Actively seek new business opportunities and nurture existing client relationships.
  • Support continuous improvement by suggesting and implementing better work methods, systems, or tools.

  • Must be available to travel locally & interstate and perform duties outside of normal business hours as position reasonably requires.
  • To be available to attend site to respond to a new or existing job out of normal working hours when the need arises.
  • Be available to participate in marketing/sales and training events outside of normal working hours when the need arises.
  • To actively participate in the on-call duty roster.
  • Estimating experience preferred but not essential.
  • Sales; Construction; Insurance; Restoration, experience preferred but not essential.
  • Computer Skills Microsoft XL, Word, CRM's and Cloud-Based Apps.
  • Must hold a full current drivers licence at all times.
  • Must hold WWCC
  • Construction Induction / White Card.
  • Physically fit and capable to perform the inherent requirements of the role.
