About the role

This is a stand-alone Payroll Lead role managing end-to-end weekly payroll for 400 staff across multiple EBAs and awards. Reporting to the Head of People & Culture and working closely with Finance, you'll take ownership of payroll accuracy, compliance, and reporting. 

Duties/Key responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end weekly payroll for 400 staff across multiple EBAs and awards across 7 retail stores
  • Ensure compliance with Fair Work, NES, STP, superannuation, PAYG and reporting requirements
  • Partner with Finance and People & Culture on reconciliations, reporting, and compliance reviews
  • Be the first point of contact for all payroll queries
  • Identify risks, discrepancies and process improvement opportunities

Skills and experience

  • 3+ years' experience managing high-volume payroll, ideally in a multi-site retail or hospitality environment
  • Strong knowledge of EBAs, awards, Fair Work and payroll compliance
  • Proven experience processing weekly payrolls and managing statutory obligations (STP, PAYG, superannuation)
  • Advanced attention to detail with strong reporting and reconciliation skills
  • Confidence working in a stand-alone role with autonomy and accountability
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills across Finance and People & Culture
