This is an exciting opportunity for an accountant to work part-time for an SME company from its Bayside Head Office. The position is very much a 'hands-on' role and would suit returning Finance Manager looking for 3 days or so of work. The Accounts Receivables and Payables parts of this role will be done by either another part timer or bookkeeper. We're after a candidate who considers themselves to be obsessively organised and can adapt to change and new processes with ease and be able to provide pro-active financial reports for our businesses.

Must be a team player and an excellent communicator. This role is responsible for managing all aspects of finance and accounting for the business including working with overseas Accountants regarding our international operations.

This position reports directly to the General Manager. The job will suit a task oriented, self-motivated and positive person with strong interpersonal skills who has previous experience in a similar role. You must have good analytical skills together with excellent report generation experience along with attention to detail and efficient organisational skills. Fluent written and verbal English communication skills are a must.

Job Duties

  • Managing all aspects of payroll, Workcover, Superannuation, long service leave, redundancy and other industry obligations

  • Supervising Accounts Payables function

  • Supervising Accounts Receivables and debt collection

  • Supervising Bank reconciliations

  • General Ledger maintenance and reconciliations (periodic and year end)

  • Compile and review monthly financial accounts

  • GST and FBT preparation and calculation

  • NZ GST preparation

  • Working with overseas Accountants on our international requirements and State Sales Taxes and VAT lodgements

  • Provide Financial Analysis, Reporting, Forecasting etc.

  • Review Company Expenditure

  • Operating System maintenance and review

  • Generate cashflow reports and review company cashflow inline with key purchase requirements

  • Generate forecast cashflow models to assist the company's needs and growth in both domestic and international operations

  • Treasury and foreign exchange management

  • Budget preparation

  • Financial Analysis for other parts of the business as and when required.

The person:

  • Punctual, reliable, good work ethic, self motivated and organised

  • Sound understanding and operation of financial and business controls and systems

  • Analytical with the ability to write and adapt detailed financial reports

  • Experience in Australian tax and statutory compliance

  • Experience in NZ GST filing

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate financial information effectively to non-finance staff

  • Flexible, be a team player

  • Previous experience in a similar role and exposure to international markets such as EU, UK, and US will be viewed favourably

  • Able to work in a small team

Computer skills:

Must have advanced Excel and Outlook skills with a working knowledge of Word. Power BI experience certainly an advantage as is experience with Ostendo and Cin7. Xero experience is essential and having been part of a software implementation will also be viewed favourably.
