About the role

The Meat Process worker (Mincer) will join a small team at our dog treat processing and packing facility.

Key responsibilities:

  • Check defrosted raw meat products, separate into batches.
  • Fill minced meat products into hoppers.
  • Put racks of filled rolls into ovens.
  • Take out racks of cooked rolls from ovens.
  • Unload products from the racks and put in to tubs for wrapping.
  • Inspect all finished products and report quality issues to the Supervisor.
  • Wash and sanitise processing equipment and work area.
  • Prepare raw materials for the next day's production.
  • Palletise casings for next day's production.
  • Assist with packing finished products.
  • Operate a Forklift.
  • Work with the supervisor to continuously improve site procedures.

The candidate:

  • Must love dogs
  • Have experience in a fast paced food production or manufacturing environment, preferably in a meat processing role.
  • Proficient machine operation skills or the willingness to learn.
  • Forklift Licence and experience.
  • Practical knowledge of food safety, hygiene, sanitisation and quality standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
  • Initiative, attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle raw meat products.
  • Ability to work in a cold and hot environment (when ovens are in operation).
  • Physically fit and able to lift up to 15KG.
  • A Certificate II or above in Meat Processing or relevant qualification is highly regarded.
  • Q Fever vaccination or willingness to participate in the vaccination process.
