Job Title: Full Stack Developer (Java + GraphQL)

Location: Sydney

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced
Full Stack Developer
proficient in
Java Spring Boot
and
React/TypeScript
, with strong expertise in
GraphQL
. The ideal candidate will design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performing full-stack applications aligned with Transport's architectural standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain full-stack solutions using
    Java Spring Boot (backend)
    and
    React/TypeScript (frontend)
    .
  • Develop, implement, and optimize
    GraphQL schemas, queries, and resolvers
    for efficient data access.
  • Build and maintain
    performant, secure, and reusable APIs
    in alignment with enterprise architecture standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Ensure code quality through
    unit testing, code reviews, and best development practices
    .
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems to improve performance and reliability.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying and implementing automation or optimization opportunities.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 3–7 years
    of hands-on experience as a Full Stack Developer.
  • Strong proficiency in
    Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful API development
    .
  • Experience with

    and
    TypeScript
    for front-end development.
  • Expertise in
    GraphQL schema design, query optimization, and resolver development
    .
  • Good understanding of
    microservices architecture
    and
    API security best practices
    .
  • Familiarity with
    CI/CD pipelines, Git, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)
    .
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in an agile, collaborative environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with
    containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
    .
  • Knowledge of
    SQL/NoSQL databases
    .
  • Familiarity with
    testing frameworks
    like JUnit, Jest, or Cypress.
