Summary:

The Healthy Transition to Adulthood (HTTA) Project Officer plays a vital role in supporting the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal communities in South Hedland, Western Australia. This full-time position focuses on the planning, implementation, and evaluation of trauma-informed care initiatives within the Social Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) department. The successful candidate will collaborate with stakeholders to ensure effective project delivery while contributing to community empowerment through culturally safe practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the planning, implementation and evaluation of the Trauma Training Australia (TTA) project within the SEWB department.
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure effective delivery of TTA project objectives and outcomes.
  • Assisting in the development of training materials and resources related to trauma-informed care and cultural safety.
  • Providing administrative support for project activities including scheduling, reporting and documentation.
  • Contributing to data collection and analysis for monitoring and reporting purposes.
  • Participating in relevant meetings, workshops and training sessions as required.

Qualifications:

  • A passion for supporting the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal communities.
  • Demonstrated experience in project coordination or similar roles within the community services sector.
  • An understanding of trauma-informed care principles and their application within an Aboriginal health context.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisational abilities with a keen attention to detail.
  • Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of social emotional well-being (SEWB) principles.
  • Proficiency in using IT systems for data management and reporting purposes.
