The role of support worker for 'SYWOL' requires people who are inclusive and who have great motivation. The sort of person who is intuitive and empathetic at all times. Whilst having the knowledge and showing the skills of being both a team player and having autonomy where required in their position. They will be understand that they are required to follow legal and moral guidelines at all times.

Our support workers will be required to have previous experience in complex mental health, intellectual, autism and also physical disabilities.

The support workers are required to be willing to do supports across all area's that are provided by "SYWOL" and at all times to the highest standards.

Flexibility is essential at all times and staff will be expected where possible to fill additional supports

  • Personal care: dressing, toileting and showering
  • Domestic Duties including meal preparation, shopping, housekeeping and cleaning
  • Assist participants in both taking and prompting medication with relevant training provided
  • Behaviour support for participants with mental health issues and neurodivergent disorders
  • Previous experience supporting participants with disabilities - minimum 3 years
  • Experience in supporting people with incontinence issues including changing aids
  • Relevant nationally recognised qualification or lived experience is highly desirable
  • Must have a QLD Drivers licence and own reliable transport that meets the standards of safety of "SYWOL" at all times and comprehensive insurance
  • Current paid employee yellow card / NDIS Workers Clearance - or willing to obtain one before employment begins
  • Current Blue Card paid employee - or willing to obtain one before employment begins
  • Current First Aid and CPR or willing to obtain within first two weeks of beginning
  • Valid Police Check within the last 3 months
  • Entire Australian Working Rights
  • NDIS 'Worker Orientation' module - or willing to obtain before employment beecommended Flu vaccine each year
  • Mobile phone with internet access
  • Minimum three professional references from a supervisor / management

Job Type: Casual

Pay: $41.76 – $44.39 per hour
