About the Role

As a Speech Pathologist, you will work autonomously, managing a varied and diverse workload in predominantly home-based and clinic settings, with no nursing home work. You'll join a multidisciplinary team including Dietetics, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Podiatry, Social Work, and Speech Pathology, supported by Allied Health Assistants. A comprehensive orientation program, along with supervision and support opportunities, will ensure your success.

What You'll Do

  • Deliver person-centred speech pathology services in home and clinic settings across a regional area
  • Collaborate with clients, carers, and families to provide practical solutions for independence and safety
  • Provide specialist intervention for clients with dysphagia and complex communication disorders
  • Advise on appropriate communication aids and devices
  • Develop goals and care plans to help clients remain active and independent in their community
  • Work with a diverse range of clients and health conditions
  • Participate in student training programs and service development/quality improvement initiatives

Who Were Looking For

  • Qualifications: Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology) or equivalent
  • Professional Membership: Member of Speech Pathology Australia (SPA) and participating in the SPA professional self-regulation program
  • Experience: Knowledge and experience in delivering speech pathology services in home and community-based settings, including management of adult clients with dysphagia
  • Advocacy: Ability to liaise and advocate across health and community care systems
  • Skills: Strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills
  • Sponsorship: Suitably qualified candidates eligible for employer-nominated sponsorship (ANZSCO
