Disability Support Worker (Day shifts)

About Us:

Based in Winter Valley, West End Support Services has been supporting the Ballarat community since 2017. We pride ourselves on delivering personalised, quality care that promotes dignity, independence, and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop meaningful and professional relationships with each participant, understanding their unique needs, goals, and daily living activities.
  • Achieve Goals Together – Implement individual support plans to help participants reach their personal goals.
  • Assist with social outings and community participation.
  • Stay Informed – Understand each client's needs and adapt to changes.
  • Positive Engagement – Build strong, respectful relationships with both participants and your team.
  • Follow direction provided by senior members of the team and management.
  • Adhere to human resource policies, work health and safety procedures and participant right's policies including privacy and confidentiality.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Flexibility to work during the week from 8:30am to 4:00pm.
  • A minimum of 12 months paid experience as a support worker
  • A genuine passion to support people with a disability
  • Being adaptable & being able to prioritise work.
  • Creativity and energy to lead engaging activities.
  • Current First Aid (Level 2) & CPR Certificates, a current cleared NDIS Workers Screening Check, Current Driver's License, NDIS Workers Orientation Certificate
  • Confident in using technology and a range of software programs, with the ability to follow online instructions and procedures accurately.

  • Be willing to undertake further online and in person training

  • Clear speech and ability to communicate effectively

  • Ability to work in a busy environment and to work both independently and as a part of a team.
