Role Overview

The Senior Google Ads Specialist will lead the execution, optimization, and scaling of paid and unpaid (owned) campaigns across Search, Shopping, YouTube, Display, and Online Video to drive revenue, maximize ROI, and resolve performance inefficiencies. Working closely with the Head of Performance, Full Stack Developer, Digital Designer and Senior Social Media Manager, with several additional roles and channels coming in the future, you will leverage your experience in data-driven campaign management and advanced PPC tools to refine ad copy, landing pages, and bidding strategies while A/B testing and managing audience targeting; manage and pace spend across channels using performance insights and data; coordinate marketing promotions and manage creative briefs for YouTube, Display, and CTV campaigns; monitor performance, troubleshoot technical issues, and provide insights that move the needle; and conduct hands-on SEO work including but not limited to meta descriptions, URL optimization with IA restructure, content optimization, and backlinks. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, optimize, and scale paid and unpaid (owned) campaigns across Search, Shopping, YouTube, Display, Online Video, and CTV to maximize ROI, including the full lifecycle from setup, keyword research, ad copy creation, bid management, to ongoing optimization for improved CTR, conversion rates, and ROAS.
  • Conduct in-depth audience targeting and management, including remarketing, custom audiences, demographic segmentation, and refinement of ad copy, landing pages, and bidding strategies through A/B testing to reach high-intent users and enhance performance.
  • Manage and pace spend across channels using performance insights and data, while monitoring and analyzing campaign performance with tools like Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and internal dashboards; adjust budgets, bids, and strategies in real-time to meet KPI goals.
  • Coordinate marketing promotions, manage creative briefs for YouTube, Display, and CTV campaigns, and troubleshoot technical issues to provide actionable insights that drive significant improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align ads with broader marketing initiatives, such as integrating with SEO or email campaigns for unified funnel optimization.
  • Conduct hands-on SEO work, including but not limited to meta descriptions, URL optimization with IA restructure, content optimization, and backlinks.
  • Identify opportunities for A/B testing on ad creatives, landing pages, and extensions to enhance performance and reduce costs.
  • Stay updated on Google Ads updates, algorithm changes, and best practices to implement innovative strategies, such as automation scripts or AI-driven bidding.
  • Report on campaign metrics to stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations for scaling ad spend effectively.

Preferable Skills/Experience

Experience

  • 5+ years in a senior SEM or PPC role, either in-house or agency-side, with proven leadership in managing high-budget campaigns.
  • 5+ years of hands-on SEO experience, including strategic optimizations and team collaboration.
  • Extensive hands-on experience leading Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, YouTube, and multi-platform SEM campaigns, with a track record of scaling to achieve significant ROI.
  • Advanced experience with GA4, including in-depth reporting, attribution modeling, and managing/pacing large-scale budgets.

Skills

  • Strong working knowledge of Google Merchant Centre, including feed optimisation, troubleshooting, and rule creation.
  • Strong analytical aptitude for identifying trends and using insights to highlight opportunities and weaknesses.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining high attention to detail.
  • Excel proficiency for data management and budgeting.
